“Cinnamon”, open for dinner, is a cute space with a cute name. Its modern style is fresh and needed here in Jaipur; the menu explains the origins of the Punjab and Mugal dishes and ingredients. Come here for dinner even if you are not a hotel guest. The space is small and quiet, up a small flight of stairs at the back of the heart of the hotel…some of the tables actually look out over the interior space of the “Marble Arch”.
The restaurant’s jewel color tones are lavender, powder blue, and silver and the service is even and unobtrusive. Surprisingly, truly satisfying restaurant choices in Jaipur are not many. There is the very romantic, formal and wonderful Surya Mahal at the Oberoi Rajvilas Hotel; well known Niros, an eclectic multi cuisine restaurant (especially Chinese) with a funny numbered menu up to 268;
flashy Dr. Dosa which offers dosas, Chinese, Mexican and Italian food (!!! yes, there is an affinity for strange cuisine combinations under one roof here), but nothing really fits the relaxed but styled vibe of “Cinnamon”.
Before you dine here, have a drink in “Marigold Bar” right at the entrance to “Cinnamon”. It too is simple and appealing with lounge seating and a proper bar as soon as you enter.
