Hyderabad, India

Photos from my time in Hyderabad, India the capital of Andhra Pradesh state.

2 Wonderful Ladies

As I sit here in my room on the Gulf of Thailand, the scent of sweet jasmine filling the air and the sound of the ocean entering through my sliding door, my thoughts wander to 2 women I met this year.

Bayon Temple

Siem Reap, Cambodia

Yesterday I returned from a portrait assignment in Siem Reap, a small city geared in large part to tourism. Due to the epic local remnants of Angkor culture, such as the numerous astonishing temples including Angkor Wat, it is a fascinating place which I was happy to visit again.

HongKong

Hong Kong

I visited the Harbour City Center here on the tip of Kowloon (Tsim Sha Tsui) where I was living – it’s a hyper luxury mall which faces the island of HK. It’s easily as big as two airports side by side.

A few images of Florence, Italy

Charles H. Cecil is an American painter and art historian who has lived and worked in Florence since 1978. His studio in the San Frediano section of Florence, Italy bears his name, and is the oldest atelier in use in the city.

FazzariTetsuya

Tokyo Style

I spent a couple of hours shooting passers by in the Omotesando neighborhood of Tokyo. With the help of my guide, I approached people and asked if I could shoot them. One of my favorites is the shot of handsome Tetsuya surrounding by a group of school kids. As I was shooting him alone, a group of students passed with their teacher, and I pleaded with them to stop and join in the photo.

Ribs at El Obrero

Today I Arrived in Buenos Aires

This is not my first time to the city; once I came for pleasure, and once I came to shoot a story for Departures Magazine about the culture and Argentina’s obsession with beef. I am eager to revisit some of the places I enjoyed most in the past like La Cabrera and Casa Cruz in Palermo, El Obrero, and Patagonia Sur owned by Francis Mallman.

Chef Feng Chao-Lin at “Little Shanghai” Restaurant, Taipei

There’s a small unassuming white tiled restaurant, owned by an adorable and jovial man deep in Taipei on a small side street.

The incredible chefs at Din Tai Fung

“Din Tai Fung” Restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan

The first thing you notice about the restaurant is the crowds at the entrance. There are women taking names and giving out numbers to the hungry diners anticipating the meal they’re about to have. It’s organized chaos; everyone is patient because the pay off is so worth it.

Where the seafood is sold at Ben Thanh Market

Inside “Ben Thanh Market” in Saigon, Vietnam

When you come to Saigon, you will visit the most well known and biggest market, “Ben Thanh”. In Vietnamese, “Ben” means wharf, and “Thanh” means fort. It is located in District 1, and everyone knows where it is. It’s recognizable for it’s famous clock tower.

Nha Tanh, an up and coming designer in Saigon

Nha Tanh, an up and coming designer in Saigon, Vietnam

One night I was invited to go to a nightclub in central Saigon called “Bounce” for a party and fashion show. An NGO organization called The East Meets West Foundation, was sponsoring the event. This is an organization that has been active in Vietnam for 20 years, providing health and educational support throughout the country.

“Bun Bo Xu” Noodle shop in Saigon, Vietnam

Bun Bo Xu is a great place for a straightforward satisfying lunch. There are a couple of locations here in Saigon; one of them is very close to The Park Hyatt.

Lunch at “Square One” at Saigon Park Hyatt in Saigon, Vietnam

I was so hungry, and couldn’t wait to go up to the Vietnamese restaurant (the all day dining restaurant is Italian). I love Vietnamese food even when I am not in Vietnam, so my mouth was watering when I arrived at “Square One”.

The “Saigon Park Hyatt” Hotel in Saigon, Vietnam

I love Vietnam. The food is great; the people are friendly; there’s an interesting art scene and a sense that all kinds of things are about to happen. The best place to stay in the southern city of Saigon is The Park Hyatt.

The "Marble Arch" on a hot afternoon

Eating at “Marble Arch” – Hotel “Jai Mahal Palace” in Jaipur, India

Here at Jai Mahal Palace, there are a number of dining options. The all day dining restaurant is called “Marble Arch” and offers both in door and outdoor seating which looks out on to the expansive hotel grounds. “Cinnamon” is the more refreshing stylish restaurant with a Punjab and Moghul menu.

The lanters hanging in Cinnamon's entrance

Eating at “Cinnamon” – Hotel “Taj Jai Mahal Palace” in Jaipur, India

“Cinnamon”, open for dinner, is a cute space with a cute name. Its modern style is fresh and needed here in Jaipur; the menu explains the origins of the Punjab and Mugal dishes and ingredients. Come here for dinner even if you are not a hotel guest.

“Bukhara” Restaurant in New Delhi, India

Nestled inside the luxury business hotel, the ITC Maurya, is the restaurant “Bukhara”. Its reputation precedes it; it has been listed on numerous top restaurant lists around the globe and is often heralded as the best restaurant not only in India, but also all of Asia.
